The Donald L. Perry Foundation For Cancer Research is named for the late Donald Perry, a resident of North Wildwood, New Jersey. Don was a singer and entertainer and a true "beach boy" who loved the sand and surf. His voice brought joy to so many and was the inspiration for the Foundation's "Singing Angel" logo. Don was just 40 years old when he lost his battle with cancer. The grace with which he lived and died served as the motivation for his best friend, Diane Ramftl, to start the Donald L. Perry Foundation For Cancer Research, Inc. The organization is a non-profit, all volunteer foundation, supported by grants and fundraising events and donations from businesses and individuals across five states.
The mission of the organization is to fund new and innovative cancer research programs that keep hope alive for all cancer patients. Funding is currently being provided for research programs at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia. The organization has been in operation for 5 years.
